compizconfig-backend-gconf software package provides Compiz Fusion configuration system - gconf backend, you can install in your Ubuntu 12.04 LTS (Precise Pangolin) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install compizconfig-backend-gconf
compizconfig-backend-gconf is installed in your system.
Make ensure the compizconfig-backend-gconf package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep compizconfig-backend-gconf *
You will get with compizconfig-backend-gconf package name, version, architecture and description in a table
